Visit one of Guyana's most remote lodges, nestled deep in Guyana's Kanuku mountains.
Four guest rooms in two benabs provide basic but comfortable accommodation for up to eight people. All rooms feature attached bathroom with shower and flush toilet. We have limited electricity provided by generator, and fresh water is supplied by the rain. No internet or telephone access here, but you don’t need it! Nature provides endless stimulation and wonder for every guest.
Home style cooking
You won’t believe the amazing meals our cooks bring to your table! We’re a small lodge, but we take particular pride in the delicious, healthy, traditional Amerindian and Continental dishes we serve our guests. No matter what your tastes are, you’ll enjoy the personal attention you get when you stay with us. Every guest at the lodge is like a guest in our home.
The lodge grounds are carved out of dense rainforest in the Kanuku mountains of Southwest Guyana. This little corner of heaven is surrounded by tall forest teeming with wildlife, placing you right in the middle of one of the world’s most biodiverse ecosystems. Whether you feel like exploring or relaxing, you are as far off the grid as anyone can be in this modern day and age.
Hike in the rain forest, camp at the edge of Jordon Falls, or tip your toes in the nearby stream.
The trip here isn't always easy, but once you arrive at Maipaima you'll know it was worth the effort
Maipiama Eco-Lodge is located in a remote corner of southwestern Guyana, relatively close to Lethem. You can reach Lethem from Georgetown on a daily Trans Guyana Airways flight or take a long minivan ride down the unpaved trans-national highway. Either way, we will meet you in Lethem and drive you to Nappi Village and onward to the Eco-Lodge. Due to the distances and shortage of vehicles, we are unable to accommodate walk-on visitors, so please book in advance.
Please send us an email or use the contact form to get in touch with us. If you need assistance with transportation to Guyana, need help planning your Guyana journey before and after your stay with us, or have questions about other eco-lodges in Guyana please use the links on this page or visit the Rupununi Tourism website. Guyana can be difficult to navigate, so you might want to contact one of the many reputable tour operators in Georgetown.
